Twice as Nice

I couldn't resist these lovely leather mirrors with their beautiful roses and butterflies. I am planning to decorate my bedroom soon and I think they would sit beautifully on the wall each side of the bed. They were 99p each in my local charity shop. The gorgeous apron was £1.49, it has such a beautiful heart-pocket on it and I love the bright colours.

5 Minute Fix

I need some new lamps but meanwhile a 5 minute fix will have to do until I find what I really like.

Just Playing

5 Minute Fix

I decided to revamp the porch bench. The cushions are actually garden, kneeling cushions (originally £15.00 each in Marks and Spencer). So I was delighted to find excess stock had been donated to a local charity shop and I was able to purchase them for £5.00 each. The cotton cloth was £1.50 and the basket was £2.00 both from a local charity shop. The bench was bought for less than £5.00 a few years ago.

Vasilopita

This Greek New Year cake is delicious all year round. This is my first attempt at making it. So far; so good. Now for the taste test...

5 Minute Fix

There is a fireplace in my dining room which I have not had the time to tackle properly. So, today I decided to give it what I have called a '5 Minute Fix'(well, if Jamie can do 30 Minute Meals...). Above are the before and after shots.

Aromatical Grass

I am a Jamie Oliver fanatic. My taste buds tingle simply at the thought of some of the marvellous flavours he conjours up and at the wonderful fragrant herbs he uses. So, whilst browsing through yet more of his videos, I came across the sweetest comment that referred to herbs as 'aromatical grass'. Cesar Pinto talked about the aromatical grass that he grows on his balcony and wonderful images brewed in my brain and I searched the internet for pictures to reflect this.

Glass

Images from The Modern Life

I love glass. Many of my charity shop finds are glass objects that people don't want. Whilst I love antique glass, I also very much appreciate modern designs. The glass tables above are to die for. It's at times like this that I wish I had a taste for modern living.

Packa Shack

For anyone who hates getting changed in the open, try the Packa Shack. The Packa Shack fits neatly on to the back of most cars and is a great asset for surfers and families. I heard about it whilst listening to a BBC Radio 2 interview with the designer who assures us they take 30 seconds to put up, if there are 2 of you, and 1 minute to erect if you are alone. Check out the Packa Shack website for further information but I am promoting this because I think it is a great idea.

Jamie Oliver's Sausage Rolls

I made these sausage rolls tonight, from Jamie's 30 Minute Meals, the family gobbled them down. They are fantastic!

Valentine's Weekend in Exmouth

My husband took me to Exmouth for a Valentine's weekend.
